On this Koa S, the association between koa and spruce works wonderfully, the projection and the substain are enormous. the versatility is the key word of this ukulele, it will give you roundness and mellowness in melancholic arpeggios, and also pep's and dynamism for Hawaiian strumming!  With its 37 mm width at the saddle, it offers a very good playability. The pickup system is double and uses both a piezo under saddle and an internal pickup, this gives a better amplified sound with more possibilities. These are the oldest trees in existence today, and Ohana has been working with responsible local growers since 2011 to source materials for their Redwood Limited Edition series. Redwood has long been used to make acoustic instruments. It has a warm, rich tone that tends to project a little more than cedar. The combination with rosewood is particularly pleasing to the ear, providing warmth and substance, and from an aesthetic point of view the two woods are a magnificent color combination.
