It is a very pleasant instrument, with a nice clear sound, the bass is not too present, it is well balanced.  The weight is a bit heavier than average but nothing too disturbing.  The manufacturing is serious, with a correctness on all the neck and an optimal playing comfort. Note that the wood grain and colour can be very different from one instrument to another. Don't hesitate to ask us for pictures before ordering :)

The aim is clearly stated: to present instruments with a more vintage look and which stand out from their modern models with which they have revolutionised the ukulele market in recent years. However, the DNA of the manufacturer is well and truly there, and we find with delight, an excellent substain, a rich sound in volume with an incredible dynamic. A new fan-shaped bracing system is fitted to this series, which brings out the midrange frequencies full of harmonies, and it should also be noted that they are equipped with Gotoh UPT mechanics, which are extremely precise.  The Singer RT1K is made entirely of solid Hawaiian koa, grade AA, which provides a clarity where each note stands out from the others for a beautiful articulation. The natural compression of the koa provides a lush, singing acoustic sound that will awaken the happy-strummer in you. Their instruments are made in Indonesia by the Ko'olau parent company, based in Hawaii. Their instruments are arguably in the upper mid-range, all made of solid wood and crafted to Ko'olau's exacting standards. This series is made from solid mango wood, increasingly prized both for its appearance and for the richness of its sound. The overall color is highly contrasting, with little variation from model to model. The satin finish offers a pleasantly soft, silky feel; for those who prefer a gloss finish, the same model is available on the site in gloss finish under the reference: MGCD.  The tone is lively and dynamic, both volume and sustain are excellent, and the sound is projected with a minimum of effort, all due to the resonance created by the lightweight construction. A very precise instrument, neither bright nor dark, the sound is perfectly versatile and lends itself to all playing styles.

The koa produces a full and rich sound in the upper midrange, and does not lack punch and volume. The instrument is incredibly light for a tenor, the body is not very deep and pleasant to play for long hours.

It has a very high pitched sound, it is normally played with a very rhythmic and fast left hand strumming, often with a pick. It is easy to do solos in common tones like C or Am because the mi string sounds louder than the rest, just move this second string by continuing the fast strumming. The strings are fishing threads, on the Tahitian style, they all have the same diameter of 0.45 mm and on the 6-string hybrids, they are different: 0.70, 0.80 and 1 mm.  It was a while ago that, we were looking to enrich our catalog of Tahitian ukulele, we had the opportunity to meet Victor Joffre, founder of the brand ASONU, based in Chile. We were convinced by his knowledge of the instrument and his mastery of the manufacturing process, his ukuleles are a reference in the field and are world-famous.  These are magnificent ukuleles, with unique shapes, the size is between a concert and a tenor with a 415mm scale length, the sound is dynamic with a lot of projection.
