The aim is clearly stated: to present instruments with a more vintage look and which stand out from their modern models with which they have revolutionized the ukulele market in recent years. However, the DNA of the manufacturer is well and truly there, and we find with delight, an excellent substain, a rich sound in volume with an incredible dynamic. A new fan-shaped baffle equips this series, which brings out the midrange frequencies full of harmonies, and it should also be noted that they are equipped with Gotoh UPT mechanics, which are extremely precise.  The Singer RT1M-TS is made entirely of solid mahogany, with a subtle tobacco sunburst finish that offers a nice brown/red tone gradation. It's the one in the series with the least amount of frills, but the essentials are there. We have the natural warmth of mahogany but also lightness and shine. It develops quite a lot of volume when you strum the strings with a lot of attack but also knows how to be reactive and dynamic in a very soft play. It is versatile and comfortable in all registers. The solid mango wood used has a different appearance to that of the standard version, with an exotic look and variations in the wood grain that are reminiscent of a multitude of tiny caterpillars criss-crossing each other, which is very pleasing to admire. The warm, mellow mango tone is also very clear and precise, and the high notes are magnificently bright. Only a handful have arrived, so don't miss the chance to discover these new models. Note that Pono tenors and baritones are equipped with a double-action adjustable tension rod called the 'Trussrod'. This allows the neck curvature to be readjusted using the Allen key supplied. This is a very useful option for optimum playing comfort over time.

The mahogany is beautiful, enhanced by elegant black binding and aged metal tuning machines for a vintage feel.  The instrument is light, with a very low action for effortless playing. The sound is rich, with notes that are precise and deep when played melodically, and clear and balanced when played in chords.

On this Koa S, the association between koa and spruce works wonderfully, the projection and the substain are enormous. the versatility is the key word of this ukulele, it will give you roundness and mellowness in melancholic arpeggios, and also pep's and dynamism for Hawaiian strumming!  With its 37 mm width at the saddle, it offers a very good playability. The pickup system is double and uses both a piezo under saddle and an internal pickup, this gives a better amplified sound with more possibilities.
