CASA OPINION

This ukulele is part of the traditional APC series, it is made in Portugal with "European" Koa which is an acacia wood close to the Hawaiian Koa, but grown in Europe.

It is a very pleasant instrument, with a nice clear sound, the bass is not too present, it is well balanced.

The weight is a bit heavier than average but nothing too disturbing.

The manufacturing is serious, with a correctness on all the neck and an optimal playing comfort.

Note that the wood grain and colour can be very different from one instrument to another.

The neck is slim with a flat profile, and despite its width of 35 cm, the strings are well spaced out and the most complex chords are easy to play. This ukulele is really made for playing arpeggios and picking. It's in the sound that the Tiny Tenor reveals all its splendour, with the mellowness of mango combined with a long sustain. The design of the Tiny Tenor, with a very high rosette that picks up string vibrations where the sound is richest, is profound. The basses, aided by the metal-spun low-g of the Pepe Romero UT-2 strings, are amazingly round yet precise. It's all a question of balance, and Romero Creations have found the recipe!  The mango wood often varies considerably from one model to another, so please feel free to ask for photos of the models in stock.

aNueNue UT 110 Solid Cuban mahogany Tenor ukulele PARTICULAR SIGNS   Tenor   Solid Cuban mahogany top  Solid Cuban mahogany back & sides   Mahogany neck   Ebony bridge & fingerboard  Tuners : Gotoh UPT  Buffalo bone nut & saddle   Nut width : 37 mm  aNueNue Green Planet strings  20 frets   Spalted maple rosette  Spalted maple binding  Smooth satin finish  aNueNue Green Leather Hardshell Case CASA OPINION Like the other models in the Bird series, this ukulele features a cutaway and a moon-shaped soundhole. However, the 110 series stands out thanks to its incredibly smooth satin finish, which contrasts with the glossy varnish typically found on other models in this series, and its solid Cuban mahogany construction, which produces a softer, more mellow and jazzy sound.  This series is also called ‘green’ in reference to a green border and rectangle around the ukulele and at the bottom of the body, as well as the very sturdy ‘aNueNue Green Leather Hardshell Case’. Cuban mahogany is a rare wood with impressive acoustic properties. Combined with their new lattice bracing, it develops a wide sound palette with mellow bass and precise, clear trebles. It is a versatile instrument, with sublime arpeggio playing in line with what this fantastic manufacturer has been offering us for several years, and warm, dynamic strumming that subtly evokes vintage sounds.   aNueNue offers a model that is as classy in appearance as it is in sound, with a quality of craftsmanship that continues to surprise us.

The aim is clearly stated: to present instruments with a more vintage look and which stand out from their modern models with which they have revolutionised the ukulele market in recent years. However, the DNA of the manufacturer is well and truly there, and we find with delight, an excellent substain, a rich sound in volume with an incredible dynamic. It has it all, a fantastic sound, exceptional luthiery on high end woods: "Swiss Moon" spruce for the top and Indian rosewood for the back and sides. Originating from Switzerland, the Moon spruce has a white and snowy appearance and a straight and tight wood grain. It is adaptable to different climates, making it one of the most durable and stable tone woods. Rosewood is a hard, oily wood with a dark red appearance. It produces a deep bass, and a very harmonic treble.  These woods are solid and have been naturally air-dried for many years before being put into production. We are very happy to offer you this very rare model in France, if you are looking for a high end tenor ukulele, seriously put an option on this model, you can even come and try it in our store in Vitry-sur-Seine, 5 minutes from Paris.
