Kala's Revelator Night Owl Tenor Ukulele pays homage to British luthier Pete Howlett with this interpretation of his original design; an "acoustic anomaly." The Revelator has been designed to maximise the resonance and vibration of the ukulele top. The thin body and minimal bracing of the top allow the energy and power of the strings to work in concert with the top, producing a clear, articulate sound with a volume and sustain that is truly impressive compared to the thickness of the body. The Night Owl rosette is positioned as close as possible to the player's ears, giving instant tonal response. A Solid Acacia top gives a full-bodied, pronounced sound and a rich, varied color. The neck is machined to perfection and blends into the body with a seamless transition that allows the player easy access to its 22 frets. The built-in passive pickup is very good, and whether plugged into an amp specially designed for acoustic instruments or directly into a console, the sound is well-balanced and pleasant. Like its illustrious predecessor, it impresses with its remarkable sound range. Like many slim ukuleles, it offers a lively and dynamic response, but it also stands out for its roundness and warmth. These qualities are further enhanced by the low G string and the Aquila B-Blacks strings, which we find truly excellent.  Aesthetically, the instrument is appealing for its beauty and meticulous finish. However, the 110 series stands out thanks to its incredibly smooth satin finish, which contrasts with the glossy varnish typically found on other models in this series, and its solid Cuban mahogany construction, which produces a softer, more mellow and jazzy sound.  This series is also called ‘green’ in reference to a green border and rectangle around the ukulele and at the bottom of the body, as well as the very sturdy ‘aNueNue Green Leather Hardshell Case’. Cuban mahogany is a rare wood with impressive acoustic properties. Combined with their new lattice bracing, it develops a wide sound palette with mellow bass and precise, clear trebles. The neck is slim with a flat profile, and despite its width of 35 cm, the strings are well spaced out and the most complex chords are easy to play. This ukulele is really made for playing arpeggios and picking. It's in the sound that the Tiny Tenor reveals all its splendour, with the mellowness of mango combined with a long sustain.
