It is a very pleasant instrument, with a nice clear sound, the bass is not too present, it is well balanced.  The weight is a bit heavier than average but nothing too disturbing.  The manufacturing is serious, with a correctness on all the neck and an optimal playing comfort. Note that the wood grain and colour can be very different from one instrument to another.

The specifications remain the same; only the item numbers have changed. The Kiwaya LT impresses with its warmth and subtlety of sound. It may not have dazzling projection, but it possesses an incredible harmonic richness and purity of sound, with every note precise, deep and haunting. The light weight, flat neck with low action gives this instrument exceptional playability. The satin finish is soft to the touch, and apart from decoration around the rosette and the gold Kiwaya logo screen-printed on the headstock, the clean lines hint at the elegance of its character. A magnificent instrument, no doubt due to the fact that Kiwaya's policy since 1919 has been "to offer happiness through the ukulele".

It has a very high pitched sound, it is normally played with a very rhythmic and fast left hand strumming, often with a pick. It is easy to do solos in common tones like C or Am because the mi string sounds louder than the rest, just move this second string by continuing the fast strumming. The strings are fishing threads, on the Tahitian style, they all have the same diameter of 0.45 mm and on the 6-string hybrids, they are different: 0.70, 0.80 and 1 mm.  It was a while ago that, we were looking to enrich our catalog of Tahitian ukulele, we had the opportunity to meet Victor Joffre, founder of the brand ASONU, based in Chile. We were convinced by his knowledge of the instrument and his mastery of the manufacturing process, his ukuleles are a reference in the field and are world-famous.  These are magnificent ukuleles, with unique shapes, the size is between a concert and a tenor with a 415mm scale length, the sound is dynamic with a lot of projection. The solid mango wood used has a different appearance to that of the standard version, with an exotic look and variations in the wood grain that are reminiscent of a multitude of tiny caterpillars criss-crossing each other, which is very pleasing to admire. The warm, mellow mango tone is also very clear and precise, and the high notes are magnificently bright. Only a handful have arrived, so don't miss the chance to discover these new models. Note that Pono tenors and baritones are equipped with a double-action adjustable tension rod called the 'Trussrod'. This allows the neck curvature to be readjusted using the Allen key supplied. This is a very useful option for optimum playing comfort over time.

The neck is slim with a flat profile, and despite its width of 35 cm, the strings are well spaced out and the most complex chords are easy to play. This ukulele is really made for playing arpeggios and picking. It's in the sound that the Tiny Tenor reveals all its splendour, with the mellowness of mango combined with a long sustain. The design of the Tiny Tenor, with a very high rosette that picks up string vibrations where the sound is richest, is profound.
