This series is also called green in reference to the green edging and rectangle all around the ukulele and at the bottom of the body, and also to the  "aNueNue Green Leather Hardshell Case". The UC110 is made from Cuban mahogany, a rare wood that, combined with their new lattice bracing, develops an impressive, extremely rich palette of sound, both in the bass and treble ranges.  The incredibly smooth satin finish offers an alternative to the high-gloss finish usually found on Bird series. This new offering from aNueNue is both aesthetically and sonically classy, modern yet with a hint of vintage, and, above all, with a build quality that continues to surprise.

This Arete model is a limited edition of 6, and we're delighted to be able to offer you one in our shop. Everything about it is singular, starting with the slightly pear-shaped body we've never seen before. The soundboard is a blend of mango and spalted mahogany with a simply sublime crescent-moon rosette contour. The sides are in mango and the back in Indian rosewood. The headstock is finely carved, and the Gotoh Stealth double-tone machine heads add even more character. This model is inspired by Greek philosophy. Arete" is a Greek concept meaning "excellence of every kind". The term can also refer to excellence in "moral virtue", the fulfillment of a goal or function: living up to one's potential. A person of arete is of maximum efficiency: he uses all his faculties - strength, bravery and spirit - to achieve concrete results. In the Homeric world, arete implies all the abilities and potentialities available to human beings.
