The aim is clearly stated: to present instruments with a more vintage look and which stand out from their modern models with which they have revolutionised the ukulele market in recent years. However, the DNA of the manufacturer is well and truly there, and we find with delight, an excellent substain, a rich sound in volume with an incredible dynamic. A new fan-shaped bracing system is fitted to this series, which brings out the midrange frequencies full of harmonies, and it should also be noted that they are equipped with Gotoh UPT mechanics, which are extremely precise.  The Singer RT1K is made entirely of solid Hawaiian koa, grade AA, which provides a clarity where each note stands out from the others for a beautiful articulation. The natural compression of the koa provides a lush, singing acoustic sound that will awaken the happy-strummer in you. It has a very high pitched sound, it is normally played with a very rhythmic and fast left hand strumming, often with a pick. It is easy to do solos in common tones like C or Am because the mi string sounds louder than the rest, just move this second string by continuing the fast strumming. The strings are fishing threads, on the Tahitian style, they all have the same diameter of 0.45 mm and on the 6-string hybrids, they are different: 0.70, 0.80 and 1 mm.  It was a while ago that, we were looking to enrich our catalog of Tahitian ukulele, we had the opportunity to meet Victor Joffre, founder of the brand ASONU, based in Chile. We were convinced by his knowledge of the instrument and his mastery of the manufacturing process, his ukuleles are a reference in the field and are world-famous.  These are magnificent ukuleles, with unique shapes, the size is between a concert and a tenor with a 415mm scale length, the sound is dynamic with a lot of projection. A new fan-shaped baffle equips this series, which brings out the midrange frequencies full of harmonies, and it should also be noted that they are equipped with Gotoh UPT mechanics, which are extremely precise.  The Singer RT1M-TS is made entirely of solid mahogany, with a subtle tobacco sunburst finish that offers a nice brown/red tone gradation. It's the one in the series with the least amount of frills, but the essentials are there. We have the natural warmth of mahogany but also lightness and shine. It develops quite a lot of volume when you strum the strings with a lot of attack but also knows how to be reactive and dynamic in a very soft play. It is versatile and comfortable in all registers.
