Entirely made of solid wood, we find a rich and balanced sound that we usually have on much more expensive instruments, the intonation is really perfect, we like it a lot.

However, the 110 series stands out thanks to its incredibly smooth satin finish, which contrasts with the glossy varnish typically found on other models in this series, and its solid Cuban mahogany construction, which produces a softer, more mellow and jazzy sound.  This series is also called ‘green’ in reference to a green border and rectangle around the ukulele and at the bottom of the body, as well as the very sturdy ‘aNueNue Green Leather Hardshell Case’. Cuban mahogany is a rare wood with impressive acoustic properties. Combined with their new lattice bracing, it develops a wide sound palette with mellow bass and precise, clear trebles. The sound offers warm mids, deep lows and crystal clear highs and allows for greater versatility in playing, regardless of style or genre. What is also striking is the dynamic range of this instrument, the notes are clear and full even at very low volumes, which is perfect for fingerstyle playing.  Note that the series has evolved and now offers a full headstock with very reliable Gotoh Planetary tuners, as on the UT3K or UT200 models, which is more convenient to install the strings in my opinion.

Manufactured in Asia under the supervision of KoAloha, it features the brand's iconic aesthetic codes (crown headstock, musubi rosette). The comparison with KoAloha ends there, but we are nonetheless impressed by the quality of this instrument. Made from laminated sapele wood, it offers a warm, pleasant sound and exceptional playability. The instruments are well finished, attractive and robust, and are an excellent introduction to the world of the ukulele... all at an unbeatable price!

These are the oldest trees in existence today, and Ohana has been working with responsible local growers since 2011 to source materials for their Redwood Limited Edition series. Redwood has long been used to make acoustic instruments. It has a warm, rich tone that tends to project a little more than cedar. The combination with rosewood is particularly pleasing to the ear, providing warmth and substance, and from an aesthetic point of view the two woods are a magnificent color combination.

The solid mahogany produces a clear and powerful sound and very singing, once in hand, I must tell you that it is hard to put it down especially since it weighs only 432g!

The warm, mellow mango tone is also very clear and precise, and the high notes are magnificently bright. Only a handful have arrived, so don't miss the chance to discover these new models.
