Each instrument is crafted by experienced luthiers according to Ko'olau's specifications. The sound is lush, the bass is present without being overpowering, and the treble is singing to bring out your voicings. The solid spruce top tempered by the laminated mahogany back and sides creates a sound that is not only bright and punchy, but also rounded with warmth.  A flat profile neck, compensated saddle for accurate intonation, fluorocarbon strings and a deluxe bag. The Iris is at least as good as the famous premium model from which it was loosely based.

The value for money is breathtaking, and this series seems to be spared the minor cosmetic and finishing flaws sometimes found on these Chinese-made ukuleles. The Voyager is a wonderful discovery, and surely our favourite of Flight's Royal series, so it's easily earned its place in our catalogue!

This series is made from solid mango wood, increasingly prized both for its appearance and for the richness of its sound. The overall color is highly contrasting, with little variation from model to model. The satin finish offers a pleasantly soft, silky feel; for those who prefer a gloss finish, the same model is available on the site in gloss finish under the reference: MGCD.  The tone is lively and dynamic, both volume and sustain are excellent, and the sound is projected with a minimum of effort, all due to the resonance created by the lightweight construction.
