CASA OPINION

The Opio series from KoAloha (a Hawaiian term meaning ‘young’ or ‘junior’) offers all the warmth and sonic power of Hawaiian ukuleles, in a version carefully crafted in Thailand by The Rebel Ukulele.

Made from solid acacia wood, these instruments retain the famous clear, rich and resonant sound that has made KoAloha's reputation, ideal for both accompaniment and melodic playing.

The craftsmanship is exceptional, with a semi-gloss finish that is very pleasant to the touch and offers a ‘better than weather’ guarantee against humidity variations. The playability is also incredible, with low action that requires no effort and impressive projection.

This line aims to offer ‘KoAloha’ quality with greater accessibility. Hawaiian tradition at your fingertips!

Production of Koaloha ukuleles began in 1995, handcrafted, one by one, in Honolulu, and although they have undergone improvements over time, they still sound with the same signature: a tone rich in harmony, warmth and luminosity.Perfectly balanced, these instruments are ideal for all types of music. From finger picking to strumming, from classical to jazz, the Hawaiian Koa series sounds wonderful. In the hands, it's very pleasant, extremely light and well balanced. The build quality is obvious, and you know you're playing a top-quality ukulele. The overall impression is one of absolute classicism, with a magnificent 5-point crown-shaped headstock, and a sublime rosette delightfully named "Musubi" ( snack popular in Hawaii). Pono MGC-K Solid Mango Concert Ukulele PARTICULAR SIGNS  Concert  Solid mango top   Solid mango back & sides  Mahogany neck   Merbau bridge & fingerboard  Ko'olau Alohi All Plain strings  Bone nut & saddle  Grover open gear tuners  Nut width : 35mm  Satin finish   Scale length : 381mm / 20 frets  Made in Indonesia CASA OPINION Pono is a legendary brand that has played a major role in the rise of the ukulele over the years. Their instruments are made in Indonesia by the Ko'olau parent company, based in Hawaii. Their instruments are arguably in the upper mid-range, all made of solid wood and crafted to Ko'olau's exacting standards. This series is made from solid mango wood, increasingly prized both for its appearance and for the richness of its sound. The overall color is highly contrasting, with little variation from model to model. The satin finish offers a pleasantly soft, silky feel; for those who prefer a gloss finish, the same model is available on the site in gloss finish under the reference: MGCD.  The tone is lively and dynamic, both volume and sustain are excellent, and the sound is projected with a minimum of effort, all due to the resonance created by the lightweight construction. A very precise instrument, neither bright nor dark, the sound is perfectly versatile and lends itself to all playing styles.

Previously reserved for the Japanese market, we received these models in Europe under the name Kiwaya and the designation “eco series.” In order to harmonize their offering, they have now decided to distribute the “eco series” in France and Europe under the name “Famous.”  Apart from the label, nothing has changed—it's still a Kiwaya made in Japan!  The instrument is made of laminated Hawaiian Koa, and offers exceptional acoustic performance with impressive volume, extremely well balanced. The neck profile is flat and easy to grip. The Arajuez strings installed on top are soft, offering a pleasant touch and a warm, mellow tone.  Kiwaya has a long history as a ukulele manufacturer, which makes this Eco series different from and above other ukuleles in the same price range.

Koaloha KCNP-00 Naupaka Concert Ukulele (photos corresponding to the model that will be sent) PARTICULAR SIGNS   Concert  Solid Hawaiian koa and solid mango top  Solid Hawaiian koa and solid mango back & sides  CNC shaped sapele neck  Rosewood bridge & fingerboard  Koaloha gear tuners  Tusq nut & saddle  Scale length : 388 mm  17 frets  Nut width : 37mm  Koaloha 5-pointed crown headstock  Paua Abalone headstock logo  Paua Abalone fret maker  Koaloha's "Musubi" sound hole  Satin finish  Gator hard case included   Made in Hawaii  CASA OPINION This new Naupaka series is named after a flower on the island of Hawaii that grows both near the ocean and high up in the mountains. Its name is inspired by a Hawaiian legend about the impossible love between a princess and a common man.   This is the contrast that KoAloha offers us with this ukulele, the vibrant, powerful sound of the koa, and the gentle warmth of the mango in the high notes. The result is an instrument of unprecedented beauty, with exceptional playability and a sound that will still resonate within you once the ukulele is packed away in its superb case. With this series, KoAloha shows us why they are a benchmark, appreciated by ukulele players the world over.

Each engraving evokes strong symbols of Maori culture. These ukuleles look great.
