The woods selected are remarkable, and the contrasts in the back are magnificent. The value for money is breathtaking, and this series seems to be spared the minor cosmetic and finishing flaws sometimes found on these Chinese-made ukuleles. The Voyager is a wonderful discovery, and surely our favourite of Flight's Royal series, so it's easily earned its place in our catalogue!

These solid Hawaiian koa models are harmonically rich, with plenty of body and consistency in the sound, as well as plenty of brilliance and, at times, chime-like resonance. The sound offers warm mids, deep lows and crystal clear highs and allows for greater versatility in playing, regardless of style or genre. What is also striking is the dynamic range of this instrument, the notes are clear and full even at very low volumes, which is perfect for fingerstyle playing.  Note that the series has evolved and now offers a full headstock with very reliable Gotoh Planetary tuners, as on the UT3K or UT200 models, which is more convenient to install the strings in my opinion.
