CASA OPINION

The Opio series from KoAloha (a Hawaiian term meaning ‘young’ or ‘junior’) offers all the warmth and sonic power of Hawaiian ukuleles, in a version carefully crafted in Thailand by The Rebel Ukulele.

Made from solid acacia wood, these instruments retain the famous clear, rich and resonant sound that has made KoAloha's reputation, ideal for both accompaniment and melodic playing.

The craftsmanship is exceptional, with a semi-gloss finish that is very pleasant to the touch and offers a ‘better than weather’ guarantee against humidity variations. The playability is also incredible, with low action that requires no effort and impressive projection.

This line aims to offer ‘KoAloha’ quality with greater accessibility. Hawaiian tradition at your fingertips!

These are the oldest trees in existence today, and Ohana has been working with responsible local growers since 2011 to source materials for their Redwood Limited Edition series. Redwood has long been used to make acoustic instruments. It has a warm, rich tone that tends to project a little more than cedar. The combination with rosewood is particularly pleasing to the ear, providing warmth and substance, and from an aesthetic point of view the two woods are a magnificent color combination.

We've never seen an abalone pearl inlay on a ukulele top before - it's magical! There's a wisdom that emanates from this "The voyage collection" series designed by artist Sam Mangakahia. Each engraving evokes strong symbols of Maori culture. These ukuleles look great. The sound, meanwhile, is quite respectable and remains the same as that found in their laminated mahogany models like the KA-15T.

This design depicts a young woman wearing a hibiscus flower behind her left ear — a cultural symbol indicating that she is single and looking for a partner. This poetic concept reflects the brand’s ‘travel meets music’ philosophy, suggesting that the instrument is just waiting for the ideal musician to bring its character fully to life. A truly original ukulele, crafted with care and attention to detail—including two strap buttons and an included strap—it’s an excellent instrument to get you started.
