Pono MC-K Solid Mahogany Concert Ukulele PARTICULAR SIGNS   Concert   Solid mahogany top  Solid mahogany back & side   Mahogany neck   Merbau bridge & fingerboard  Ko'olau Alohi All Plain strings   Bone nut & saddle  Geared tuners   Nut width : 35mm  Satin finish   Scale length : 381mm / 20 frets  Made in Indonesia CASA OPINION  This solid mahogany series are the construction and design that focus on the essentials: a rich, deep and balanced sound. Mahogany has been used to make ukuleles for over a century. It offers warm, mellow tones, and may not be suitable when you want a bright, sharp sound, but so beautiful in "jazzy" tones. These ukuleles are made in Java, Indonesia, and benefit from the expertise of the Ko'olau/Pono workshops, true pioneers of the ukulele in Hawaii. We've had the pleasure of talking to these enthusiasts and are delighted to offer you their instruments in our shop.

Its name is inspired by a Hawaiian legend about the impossible love between a princess and a common man.   This is the contrast that KoAloha offers us with this ukulele, the vibrant, powerful sound of the koa, and the gentle warmth of the mango in the high notes. The result is an instrument of unprecedented beauty, with exceptional playability and a sound that will still resonate within you once the ukulele is packed away in its superb case. With this series, KoAloha shows us why they are a benchmark, appreciated by ukulele players the world over.
