CASA OPINION

We arrive at a range of prices, where we start to become very exigeant with the quality of a ukulele, and we are not disappointed with this series in mango by Islander,  the finishes are neat, the intonation is impeccable. The sound of the mango wood resonates rather in the mediums and with a lot of depth and substain. A total success!

Available in soprano, concert & tenor format.

Production of Koaloha ukuleles began in 1995, handcrafted, one by one, in Honolulu, and although they have undergone improvements over time, they still sound with the same signature: a tone rich in harmony, warmth and luminosity. Perfectly balanced, these instruments are ideal for all types of music. From finger picking to strumming, from classical to jazz, the Hawaiian Koa series sounds wonderful. In the hands, it's very pleasant, extremely light and well balanced. The build quality is obvious, and you know you're playing a top-quality ukulele. The overall impression is one of absolute classicism, with a magnificent 5-point crown-shaped headstock and a sublime rosette deliciously named "Musubi" (snack popular in Hawaii). You'll also benefit from the "better than the weather" warranty, which allows you to have your ukulele repaired without any time limit.

The Rebel Custom Shop Alchemist Tenor PARTICULAR SIGNS  Tenor  Solid mango & spruce top   Solid koa back & sides   Mahogany neck   Ebony bridge & fingerboard  Ebony head plate  Gotoh Tuning machines  TUSQ® nut & saddles  The Rebel strings Low-G  Nut width : 38,05 mm   Ebony armrest  19 frets  Gloss finish  Deluxe gig bag included  Made in Thailand  CASA OPINION The luthiers in Rebel's custom shop must have had free hand to express so much creativity in the creation of these two models we've just received, so different and innovative are they. For this Alchemist model, Rebel's luthiers studied how woods and bracing patterns affect sound, and proceeded by trial and error, over and over again, just as a chef looks for a new taste in every dish he prepares. The process of making this ukulele was all about reaching the invisible - the Rebel sound. The image of "alchemists" slowly dawned on them, as they played an important role in the development of science in the early modern era, slowly moving the world forward, and were, in a way, the very first group of "rebels" the world had ever known. "It's a tribute to those who came before us. Those who enriched human knowledge, enabling us to make new discoveries. That's why the official name of this model is Alchemist". Their efforts have not been in vain: the sound is sumptuous, rich and deep, a ukulele to listen to. The Rebel gig bag is included, but we offer a hard case for added protection.his model is a limited edition, produced in just a few copies, so don't wait too long.

Romero Creations Tiny Tenor Mango  PARTICULARS SIGNS  Tenor    Solid mango top   Solid mango back & sides  Mahogany neck  Ebony bridge & fingerboard  Designed by Pepe Romero & Daniel Ho  Nut width :35 mm  Bone nuts  Pepe Romero US2 strings with Low-G wound  Abalone rosette  High Gloss Finish   Scale Length : 432 mm / 16 frets   Softcase included L'AVIS DE LA CASA  This Tiny Tenor Mango is perhaps the most beautiful mango ukulele we have ever had in our hands! Look at this top, it is sublime. The concept of the Tiny Tenor is to give you the same pitch and playability of a tenor ukulele but in ultra compact proportions, thanks to a reduced headstock, body design and bridge placement. The neck is thin with a flat profile, despite its width of 35 cm the strings are well spaced and the most complex chords are played easily, this ukulele is really made for a play in arpeggios and picking. It is in the sound that the Tiny Tenor reveals all its splendour, the mellowness of the mango tree is associated with a long and full substain, and offers an open and rich sound with a lot of amplitude. The bass, aided by the metal-spun low-g of the Pepe Romero UT-200 strings, is amazingly round and yet precise. Very highly recommended

It's a Bird series, with all South American mahogany construction. This series is also called green in reference to the green edging and rectangle all around the ukulele and at the bottom of the body, and also to the  "aNueNue Green Leather Hardshell Case". The UC110 is made from Cuban mahogany, a rare wood that, combined with their new lattice bracing, develops an impressive, extremely rich palette of sound, both in the bass and treble ranges.  The incredibly smooth satin finish offers an alternative to the high-gloss finish usually found on Bird series. This new offering from aNueNue is both aesthetically and sonically classy, modern yet with a hint of vintage, and, above all, with a build quality that continues to surprise.

The Rebel Ukulele Double Crème Tenor with Gig Bag PARTICULAR SIGNS  Tenor   All solid mango   Mahogany neck  Ebony fretboard bridge and faceplate  Maple fretboard marker and wood marquetry logo  Gotoh UPT tuners  The Rebel Excella® fluorocarbon strings  TUSQ® nut and saddle   Nut width : 38,05 mm  Scale length : 438mm  19 frets  High gloss finish  Deluxe gig bag included  Made in Thailand CASA OPINION This series is eye-catching and stands out from the rest. It is true that the massive mango tree is excentric. There is also something modern about these ukuleles, the geometric and cubic shapes on the fingerboard and on the logo are certainly part of it. However, once in hand the sound is smooth and creamy, they sing traditionally well and are easy to learn thanks to an exceptional playability. The Rebel Ukulele brings a particular care to the manufacturing, and all the models that we received are always extremely well finished. Between modernity and tradition, The Rebel Ukulele never ceases to seduce us, and we think that it is a brand that will count a lot in the future of the ukulele, and here, at La Casa, they will always have a place of choice. Please note that the model you see in the picture will be the one sent.

This thinline body is not bulky and very comfortable to hold, while keeping a nice amplitude of sound. The strings installed on it are Worth fluorocarbon strings, they are very thin, and offer a crystal clear sound. The piezo pickup associated with the double B1 preamp gives a sound quite faithful to that of the pure acoustic. In short, we can say that the force is with this Princess Leia ukulele.

It is a very pleasant instrument, with a nice clear sound, the bass is not too present, it is well balanced.  The weight is a bit heavier than average but nothing too disturbing.  The manufacturing is serious, with a correctness on all the neck and an optimal playing comfort. It was warmly recommended to us by a customer, and after a first contact with them, we can say that we were delighted by the quality of the commercial exchanges, the professionalism and the seriousness.  Their instruments are just like them, a unique design and an irreproachable quality of manufacture, with a particular attention to the smallest details. It has it all, a fantastic sound, exceptional luthiery on high end woods: "Swiss Moon" spruce for the top and Indian rosewood for the back and sides. Originating from Switzerland, the Moon spruce has a white and snowy appearance and a straight and tight wood grain. It is adaptable to different climates, making it one of the most durable and stable tone woods. Rosewood is a hard, oily wood with a dark red appearance. It produces a deep bass, and a very harmonic treble.  These woods are solid and have been naturally air-dried for many years before being put into production. We are very happy to offer you this very rare model in France, if you are looking for a high end tenor ukulele, seriously put an option on this model, you can even come and try it in our store in Vitry-sur-Seine, 5 minutes from Paris.
