CASA OPINION

The luthiers in Rebel's custom shop must have had free hand to express so much creativity in the creation of these two models we've just received, so different and innovative are they.

For this Alchemist model, Rebel's luthiers studied how woods and bracing patterns affect sound, and proceeded by trial and error, over and over again, just as a chef looks for a new taste in every dish he prepares. The process of making this ukulele was all about reaching the invisible - the Rebel sound.

The image of "alchemists" slowly dawned on them, as they played an important role in the development of science in the early modern era, slowly moving the world forward, and were, in a way, the very first group of "rebels" the world had ever known.

"It's a tribute to those who came before us. Those who enriched human knowledge, enabling us to make new discoveries. That's why the official name of this model is Alchemist".

Their efforts have not been in vain: the sound is sumptuous, rich and deep, a ukulele to listen to.

The Rebel gig bag is included, but we offer a hard case for added protection.his model is a limited edition, produced in just a few copies, so don't wait too long.

Romero Creations Grand Tenor Koa

Romero Creations Grand Tenor Koa PARTICULARS SIGNS  Tenor   Solid Hawaiien koa top   Solis Hawaiien koa back & sides  Mahogany neck  Ebony bridge & fingerboard  Designed by Pepe Romero  Bone nut & saddle  Nut width: 38mm  Strings: Pepe Romero UT2 with polished won low-G  Abalone rosette  High gloss finish  Scale length : 432mm / 17 frets  Made in Vietnam  Softcase included CASA OPINION  This Grand Tenor is first of all exceptionally beautiful (the model taken in the picture will be the one sent). The size of the body is bigger than a standard tenor and offers more volume, resonance and sustain, which is quite logical.  When you play this Grand Tenor, what is striking is the thinness of the neck and the flat profile, and with its width of 38mm, we have rarely played on a ukulele so pleasant and easy.  The sound is obviously powerful, round, and with a huge sustain, but it keeps a perfect balance of frequencies and each string and each fret will offer you a delicious harmony  For its touch, for its sound, for its beauty, it's an instrument that is worth every single euro invested, it's an instrument that we keep, and that gives us the means to surpass ourselves.

The sound offers warm mids, deep lows and crystal clear highs and allows for greater versatility in playing, regardless of style or genre. What is also striking is the dynamic range of this instrument, the notes are clear and full even at very low volumes, which is perfect for fingerstyle playing.  Note that the series has evolved and now offers a full headstock with very reliable Gotoh Planetary tuners, as on the UT3K or UT200 models.

Koaloha KTM-10 Royal Pikake Solid Hawaiian Koa Tenor Ukulele (real pictures) PARTICULAR SIGNS   Tenor  Solid Hawaiian koa top  Solid Hawaiian koa back & sides  CNC shaped mahogany neck  Ebony bridge & fingerboard  Koaloha gear tuners  Tusq nut & saddle  Salle length : 432 mm  20 frets  Nut width : 37mm  Koaloha 5-pointed crown headstock  Paua Abalone headstock logo  Paua Abalone fret maker  Koaloha's "Musubi" sound hole  Satin finish  Hard-case include   Made in Hawaii  CASA OPINION As you read these lines, be prepared for a shower of praise from us, so overwhelmed were we by the sound, the comfort, the precision, the versatility... so this is what a Hawaiian ukulele is all about!  Experts rank these ukuleles among the best on the planet, and we've never had so much pleasure playing a solid koa ukulele. Production of Koaloha ukuleles began in 1995, handcrafted, one by one, in Honolulu, and although they have undergone improvements over time, they still sound with the same signature: a tone rich in harmony, warmth and luminosity.Perfectly balanced, these instruments are ideal for all types of music. From finger picking to strumming, from classical to jazz, the Hawaiian Koa series sounds wonderful. In the hands, it's very pleasant, extremely light and well balanced. The build quality is obvious, and you know you're playing a top-quality ukulele. The overall impression is one of absolute classicism, with a magnificent 5-point crown-shaped headstock, and a sublime rosette delightfully named "Musubi" ( snack popular in Hawaii). You'll also benefit from the "better than the weather" warranty, which means you can have your ukulele repaired without any time limit. This Royal Pikake series has the same features as the glossy models, but with a satin finish. They have an ansewome projection, powerful vibrancy and a magnificent substain.

Kala KA-UNITY-T Tenor Mahogany Ukulele With Gig Bag PARTICULAR SIGNS  Tenor  Mahogany top  Mahogany back & side  Mahogany neck  Rosewood fingerboard  Aquila Super Nylgut© strings  Graphtec NuBone© nut & saddle  Scale length : 431 mm  18 frets  Nut width : 35,3 mm  Satin finish  1 x strap button CASA OPINION Courage and Unity ukuleles are as beautiful as the names they wear. We've never seen an abalone pearl inlay on a ukulele top before - it's magical! There's a wisdom that emanates from this "The voyage collection" series designed by artist Sam Mangakahia. Each engraving evokes strong symbols of Maori culture. These ukuleles look great. The sound, meanwhile, is quite respectable and remains the same as that found in their laminated mahogany models like the KA-15T.

The Rebel Ukulele Double Crème Tenor with Gig Bag PARTICULAR SIGNS  Tenor   All solid mango   Mahogany neck  Ebony fretboard bridge and faceplate  Maple fretboard marker and wood marquetry logo  Gotoh UPT tuners  The Rebel Excella® fluorocarbon strings  TUSQ® nut and saddle   Nut width : 38,05 mm  Scale length : 438mm  19 frets  High gloss finish  Deluxe gig bag included  Made in Thailand CASA OPINION This series is eye-catching and stands out from the rest. It is true that the massive mango tree is excentric. There is also something modern about these ukuleles, the geometric and cubic shapes on the fingerboard and on the logo are certainly part of it. However, once in hand the sound is smooth and creamy, they sing traditionally well and are easy to learn thanks to an exceptional playability. The Rebel Ukulele brings a particular care to the manufacturing, and all the models that we received are always extremely well finished. Between modernity and tradition, The Rebel Ukulele never ceases to seduce us, and we think that it is a brand that will count a lot in the future of the ukulele, and here, at La Casa, they will always have a place of choice. Please note that the model you see in the picture will be the one sent.

The sound of the mango wood resonates rather in the mediums and with a lot of depth and substain. A total success! Available in soprano, concert & tenor format.
