The solid mango wood used has a different appearance to that of the standard version, with an exotic look and variations in the wood grain that are reminiscent of a multitude of tiny caterpillars criss-crossing each other, which is very pleasing to admire. We've never seen an abalone pearl inlay on a ukulele top before - it's magical! There's a wisdom that emanates from this "The voyage collection" series designed by artist Sam Mangakahia. Each engraving evokes strong symbols of Maori culture. These ukuleles look great. The sound, meanwhile, is quite respectable and remains the same as that found in their laminated mahogany models like the KA-15T.
