These are the oldest trees in existence today, and Ohana has been working with responsible local growers since 2011 to source materials for their Redwood Limited Edition series. Redwood has long been used to make acoustic instruments. It has a warm, rich tone that tends to project a little more than cedar. The combination with rosewood is particularly pleasing to the ear, providing warmth and substance, and from an aesthetic point of view the two woods are a magnificent color combination.

Set up in Low-G, the first thing you notice is a round, mellow sound, but you soon realise that the high notes are bright and luminous, and your melodies will cut through the mix! The woods selected are remarkable, and the contrasts in the back are magnificent. The value for money is breathtaking, and this series seems to be spared the minor cosmetic and finishing flaws sometimes found on these Chinese-made ukuleles. The Voyager is a wonderful discovery, and surely our favourite of Flight's Royal series, so it's easily earned its place in our catalogue!
