The mahogany is beautiful, enhanced by elegant black binding and aged metal tuning machines for a vintage feel.  The instrument is light, with a very low action for effortless playing. The sound is rich, with notes that are precise and deep when played melodically, and clear and balanced when played in chords.

Manufactured in Asia under the supervision of KoAloha, it features the brand's iconic aesthetic codes (crown headstock, musubi rosette). The comparison with KoAloha ends there, but we are nonetheless impressed by the quality of this instrument. Made from laminated sapele wood, it offers a warm, pleasant sound and exceptional playability. Like its illustrious predecessor, it impresses with its remarkable sound range. Like many slim ukuleles, it offers a lively and dynamic response, but it also stands out for its roundness and warmth. These qualities are further enhanced by the low G string and the Aquila B-Blacks strings, which we find truly excellent.  Aesthetically, the instrument is appealing for its beauty and meticulous finish. It is a very pleasant instrument, with a nice clear sound, the bass is not too present, it is well balanced.  The weight is a bit heavier than average but nothing too disturbing.  The manufacturing is serious, with a correctness on all the neck and an optimal playing comfort. Note that the wood grain and colour can be very different from one instrument to another. Don't hesitate to ask us for pictures before ordering :)

Crafted from solid koa, it offers excellent projection with well-defined notes and good dynamic range, equally at home with soft playing or more rhythmic accompaniment. This model differs notably from the KTM-00 Tenor in its satin finish (as opposed to the gloss finish on the KTM-00). This choice is not merely aesthetic: it also influences the sound. The KTM-10 RP produces a slightly more muted, softer and more subdued sound, whilst the KTM-00 offers greater brightness and projection in the treble range. The Royal Pikake design adds an elegant touch without being over the top, and the playing comfort remains true to KoAloha’s reputation: simple, effective and a pleasure to play every day. An interesting model for those looking for a koa tenor with a warm, natural sound and a slightly more understated approach than its gloss-finished counterpart.
