Its sopranissimo size makes it the perfect travel companion: lightweight, compact, and always ready to play. Despite a 34 mm nut width, it remains surprisingly comfortable and easy to handle. In standard tuning (GCEA), it produces a beautiful, warm, and balanced tone. But it’s when you tune it up a tone or even two that it reveals its true personality: it sings more, with greater projection and volume, for a lively and expressive sound. Its spruce top and solid mahogany body deliver a lively, bright sound full of character. The sopranissimo size is ideal for staccato, fast, rhythmic playing; this is not the instrument to choose if you are looking for sustain or depth.  Ultra-compact, it fits in a handbag or carry-on luggage, perfect for travelling. The gloss finish and abalone inlays give it a stylish and unique look. With the original strings, the sound is much better when the instrument is tuned 1 tone higher (D mode: A–D–F#–B). These are the oldest trees in existence today, and Ohana has been working with responsible local growers since 2011 to source materials for their Redwood Limited Edition series. Redwood has long been used to make acoustic instruments. It has a warm, rich tone that tends to project a little more than cedar. The combination with rosewood is particularly pleasing to the ear, providing warmth and substance, and from an aesthetic point of view the two woods are a magnificent color combination.
