CASA OPINION

This ukulele has a strong personality: eccentric solid mango wood, geometric and cubic shapes on the fingerboard and the bird logo inlaid on the headstock. Once in hand, the sound is smooth and creamy, and is easy to tame thanks to exceptional playability. The Rebel Ukulele takes particular care with each model, and all those we've received are always extremely well finished. Between modernity and tradition, The Rebel Ukulele never ceases to seduce us.

Previously reserved for the Japanese market, we received these models in Europe under the name Kiwaya and the designation “eco series.” In order to harmonize their offering, they have now decided to distribute the “eco series” in France and Europe under the name “Famous.”  Apart from the label, nothing has changed—it's still a Kiwaya made in Japan!  The body of the instrument is made of "Layered tonewood", and offers exceptional acoustic performance with an impressive, extremely well-balanced volume. Its light weight and extremely precise tuning make this ukulele an instrument with addictive playability. Kiwaya has a long history as a ukulele manufacturer, which makes this Eco series different from and above other ukuleles in the same price range.

These solid Hawaiian koa models are harmonically rich, with plenty of body and consistency in the sound, as well as plenty of brilliance and, at times, chime-like resonance. This makes them a versatile instrument, rooted in tradition yet resolutely modern.

Koaloha KSM-00 Solid Hawaiian Koa Soprano Ukulele (The Ukulele photographed is the one you will receive) PARTICULAR SIGNS   Soprano  Solid Hawaiian koa top  Solid Hawaiian koa back & sides  CNC shaped mahogany neck  Ebony bridge & fingerboard  Koaloha gear tuners  Tusq nut & saddle   16 frets  Nut width : 37mm  Koaloha 5-pointed crown headstock  Paua Abalone headstock logo  Paua Abalone fret maker  Koaloha's "Musubi" sound hole  Gloss finish  Hard-case not  included   Made in Hawaii  CASA OPINION Experts rank these ukuleles among the best in the world, and we have never had so much fun playing a solid koa ukulele. Koaloha ukuleles began production in 1995, handmade one by one in Honolulu, and although they have undergone improvements over time, they still sound the same: rich in harmony, warmth, and brightness. Perfectly balanced, these instruments are suitable for all types of music. From fingerpicking to strumming, from classical to jazz, the Hawaiian Koa series vibrates and resonates beautifully.  It feels very comfortable in your hands, the instrument is light, the playability is obvious, you are playing a very high-end ukulele. The whole thing gives an impression of absolute classicism, with a magnificent 5-point crown-shaped headstock and a sublime rosette delightfully named “Musubi” (after a sushi-shaped snack that is very popular in Hawaii).
