Initially intended for the Portuguese cavaquinho, APC responded favourably to the request of La Casa de Ukulele™ to decline these designs, on concert and soprano ukuleles. This is a vivid and beautifully imperfect handmade paint and engraving job, which has nothing to do with a sanitized and standardized industrial decoration. The solid acacia wood delivers a harmonious sound, with beautiful, full and true notes all along the neck. Made by APC in Portugal.

Until now, these models have been reserved for the Japanese market, but we've been receiving them in Europe under the Kiwaya name and the “eco series” designation. In order to harmonise their offer, they have now decided to distribute the “eco series” in France and Europe under the name “Famous”. Apart from the label, nothing changes - it's a Kiwaya made in Japan! The instrument is made from laminated Hawaiian Koa, and offers exceptional acoustic performance with an impressive, extremely well-balanced volume. Its light weight and extremely precise tuning make this ukulele an addictive instrument to play. This model is the same as the FS-5G but with friction action action, making it even lighter at just 333g! Kiwaya has a long history as a ukulele manufacturer, which makes this Eco series different from and above other ukuleles in the same price range.

Manufactured in Asia under the supervision of KoAloha, it features the brand's iconic aesthetic codes (crown headstock, musubi rosette). The comparison with KoAloha ends there, but we are nonetheless impressed by the quality of this instrument. Made from laminated sapele wood, it offers a warm, pleasant sound and exceptional playability. The instruments are well finished, attractive and robust, and are an excellent introduction to the world of the ukulele... all at an unbeatable price!

(We...it's the sound!), so simple and uncluttered are the construction and design that focus on the essentials: a rich, deep and balanced sound. Mahogany has been used to make ukuleles for over a century. It offers warm, mellow tones, and may not be suitable when you want a bright, sharp sound, but so beautiful in "jazzy" tones. These ukuleles are made in Java, Indonesia, and benefit from the expertise of the Ko'olau/Pono workshops, true pioneers of the ukulele in Hawaii. The solid mango wood used has a different appearance to that of the standard version, with an exotic look and variations in the wood grain that are reminiscent of a multitude of tiny caterpillars criss-crossing each other, which is very pleasing to admire.
