Each instrument is crafted by experienced luthiers according to Ko'olau's specifications. The sound is lush, the bass is present without being overpowering, and the treble is singing to bring out your voicings. This perfectly balanced sound is ideal for accompanying vocals and fits perfectly into a band with other instruments. The satin finish elegantly reveals the natural beauty of Pacific acacia wood. The sound offers warm mids, deep lows and crystal clear highs and allows for greater versatility in playing, regardless of style or genre. What is also striking is the dynamic range of this instrument, the notes are clear and full even at very low volumes, which is perfect for fingerstyle playing.  Note that the series has evolved and now offers a full headstock with very reliable Gotoh Planetary tuners, as on the UT3K or UT200 models, which is more convenient to install the strings in my opinion.

These are the oldest trees in existence today, and Ohana has been working with responsible local growers since 2011 to source materials for their Redwood Limited Edition series.
