This Arete model is a limited edition of 6, and we're delighted to be able to offer you one in our shop. Everything about it is singular, starting with the slightly pear-shaped body we've never seen before. The soundboard is a blend of mango and spalted mahogany with a simply sublime crescent-moon rosette contour. The sides are in mango and the back in Indian rosewood. The headstock is finely carved, and the Gotoh Stealth double-tone machine heads add even more character. This model is inspired by Greek philosophy. Arete" is a Greek concept meaning "excellence of every kind". The term can also refer to excellence in "moral virtue", the fulfillment of a goal or function: living up to one's potential.
